Radical Retains Its Place as a Top Canadian Employer
October 6, 2004 - Vancouver, BC - Radical Entertainment has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for the second time. This year, over 1,000 companies applied for a coveted spot on Mediacorp’s annual list. Once again, Radical has earned its place alongside such industry leaders as Alias Systems Corp., Ericsson Canada, Ikea Canada, and Procter & Gamble. “I’m immensely proud of Radical’s inclusion in this list, and I take the accolade very seriously,” says Radical’s CEO Ian Wilkinson. “Being an employer puts you in a unique position. You have the power to affect people’s lives and with that power comes enormous responsibility.” Wilkinson adds that Radical has clearly defined its core values to ensure that responsibility is met consistently. “We are committed to empowering our employees to contribute to the company, encouraging them to grow professionally and personally, and giving them the freedom and support to make their mark in a meaningful, positive way. These values influence everything from our hiring practices and benefits package to our training initiatives and charitable activities.” When reviewing applicants for its list of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, Mediacorp evaluated seven key areas: physical workplace; work and social atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; and training and skills development. An employer’s charitable efforts and community involvement were also considered. In choosing the finalists, the Mediacorp team compared each company to others in its industry. The final list includes large and small companies from a range of industries.
