Radical Foundation Powers Program for Young Women - REAL Power Youth Society Awarded $4,500 Grant Vancouver, BC September 6, 2002 – Radical Entertainment, one of North America’s leading developers of digital entertainment, announced today that it has awarded the REAL Power Youth Society a grant of $4,500 through the Radical Foundation, the firm’s charitable giving arm. Forty-five young women between the ages of 12 and 15 participated in the Radical Foundation-funded program this summer. The Real POWER Youth Society provides young women with an opportunity to come together in a youth and female-centered environment, to address real issues in their lives, to raise awareness, develop critical thinking skills and together develop action-oriented strategies towards change. The Real POWER Youth Society offers two main programs - a summer camp called POWER Camp Vancouver and an in-school workshop series called The Real POWER Workshop Series which begins this fall. Power Camp Vancouver is a camp for young women with the goal of boosting their self-confidence and creating awareness on a variety of issues that affect them. In the camp, they participate in a number of creative and fun, physical activities. The camp is held in different locations in Vancouver. “Our commitment is to organizations that support young people, women and the environment and REAL Power demonstrated a very real way of helping girls to develop confidence and self-esteem. We’re pleased with the work they have done and applaud their commitment to helping to raise independent and contributing young women,” said Ian Wilkinson, CEO of Radical Entertainment and Chairperson of the Radical Foundation. The Radical Foundation was established in November 2001 to commemorate the company’s 10 Year Anniversary and to create a legacy of community giving to organizations in the community where Radical works and lives. Award of up to $10,000 are made bi-annually to various community groups and non-profit organizations.
