Radical Entertainment Opens New Post-Production Suite

An exciting new era has begun for Radical Entertainment, a videogame developer in Vancouver, British Columbia that’s affiliated with Vivendi Games, and whose titles include Scarface: The World Is Yours, The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and The Simpsons: Hit and Run. The company recently opened a dedicated 7.1 surround post-production suite on its premises, which is said to be the first of its kind in Canada. The new room was designed and constructed from the ground up in a large, unused open space by John Vrtacic of Vancouver-based Vrtacic Design.

New audio post-production suite!

We are pleased to announce that construction and setup are completed at our new audio post-production suite at Radical Entertainment. Our very own Senior Audio Engineer Lin Gardiner worked closely with world-renowned studio designer John Vrtacic www.vrtacicdesign.com on planning of the build, and with Sonotechnique, THX and Electra Systems on detailed technical specifications and complete installation.

Radical’s new studio promises to raise the bar for consumer expectations in game audio and add value to the Radical brand. Senior Sound Director Rob Bridgett (Scarface, 50 cent 2) who has worked closely with Randy Thom on George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch, will bring his mix experience to upcoming Radical titles including the much anticipated Prototype.

We worked closely with our friends at THX to make this the first 7.1 surround post production game audio studio in Canada!

Radical listed as “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” for 2008

We’ve done it again!  We’re so proud and excited to announce that we have once again been selected as “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” list for 2008 as recently announced in a special issue by Maclean’s magazine.  Over 1,800 companies were surveyed and reviewed based on eight key areas: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere and Social; (3) Health, Financial and Family Benefits; (4) Vacation and Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training and Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.  Each company is then ranked and compared to others within its industry.  Thanks to our continuing commitment to design practices and programs to make Radical a fantastic place to work and grow your career, we’re happy to be part of Canada’s Top 100!

And to add to that, we have also been named as one of BC’s Top 40 Employers for 2008.  Way to go, Radical!
